We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Digital ASIC Design Engineer (100%) with a strong interest in medical devices, affinity for technology and the will to develop a career on the edge of medicine and technology. As we are a start-up, drive and passion for what we work towards,has to be a given.

Activities: 
  • Support the system design and hardware development (both in house and with partners) 
  • Support firmware and embedded software design and development (SoCs, FPGAs) 
  • Lead digital design (RTL design): ASIC and FPGA; specification and implementation 
  • Responsible for synthesis, place and route, timing closure and formal verification 
  • Support hiring of junior staff 
  • Bring up design infrastructure (digital design tools / Cadence) 
  • Establish methods for design verification: develop test plans, test benches and automated testing procedures 
  • Support HW bring-up (together with Analog-mixed-signals ASIC design engineers) 
  • Support product development and system integration (in a regulated environment) 
Your profile
  • PhD or master's in electrical engineering or equivalent 
  • At least 6+ years of experience after graduation (industry experience preferred) 
  • Experienced in technical leadership, coaching, onboarding   
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with the entire digital design flow: definition of specifications, RTL verification and synthesis, place and route, timing closure, power estimation, etc. 
  • Proficient with standard hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL, SystemVerilog) 
  • Excellent knowledge and use of industry standards ASIC design tools/flow (Cadence preferred) 
  • Experience with programming, scripting and automation languages (C/C++, Python, shell) 
  • Experience with bring up and characterization of ASICs 
  • English written and spoken 
  • Independent and strong in teamwork / team communications 
  • Experience with CMOS image/optical sensors is a strong plus 
  • Experience with standard interface protocols (I2C, SPI, MIPI, LVDS) is a strong plus 
  • Experience with embedded software, HW/SW partitioning (preferably Xilinx SoC) is a plus 
  • Experience with embedded Linux and related build tools (Petalinux, yocto, bitbake) is a plus 
  • Experience with product development in a regulated environment (ideally ISO 13485) is a plus
